Violence Against Women
Many women experience violence or aggression from a partner, husband or family member, or from a workmate, colleague or supervisor. These actions are known as domestic/family violence or workplace harassment, respectively. Some women experience sexual assault from someone they know, or from an acquaintance or stranger. Women have the right to be safe from all of these types of violence and aggression.
Sometimes women are unsure if what they are experiencing is harassment or abuse. This section aims to provide information about the ways agression against women can occur so women can make informed decisions about keeping safe and seeking legal, practical and emotional help.
