Better Work and Family Balance

Better Work and Family Balance for Women Working in the Non-government Sector

This project, led by WIRE - Women's Information and URCOT, aims to improve work and family balance for women working in non-government organisations (NGOs). The project uses a ‘pass-it-on’ approach, where learning is passed between groups to create effective, strong networks. To do this, 10 NGO sector managers, who have effectively introduced work and family balance initiatives into their own workplaces, are being trained and supported by the project partners to become mentors. These mentors will then work with 10 other managers from the NGO sector to assist in implementing workplace initiatives that will improve women’s work and family balance.

The project is funded by a Better Work & Family Balance Grant, Industrial Relations Victoria, and the Victorian Women's Trust. It is working to create stronger women’s networks and improve women’s work and family balance.
